Метод анализа первичной структуры ДНК, РНК и рибонуклеопротеидов путем последовательного хроматографического и электрофоретического разделения олигонуклеотидов, образующихся под действием ДНКаз или РНКаз; первоначально М.ф. был разработан для сравнительного анализа первичной структуры гомологичных белков и заключался в разделении пептидов, образующихся после расщепления белков протеазами, с помощью двумерного электрофореза; наиболее распространенный вариант М.ф. метод генетических «отпечатков пальцев»
